Stoughton Arena Schematic Design

Location: Stoughton, Saskatchewan
Overview: Concept Plus was engaged by the Town of Stoughton, Saskatchewan to complete a schematic design for a 2,800 m² new town activity complex. The proposed facility included hockey arena, curling rink, wall climbing facility, fitness centre, basketball court, tennis court, and outdoor pool. The building was designed to incorporate the existing 1500 m² curling rink, and would also include showers, change rooms, storage rooms, viewing lounges, Zamboni room, and a new kitchen capable of supporting large functions. The concept incorporated a variety of energy-efficient features including a double-layered south facade to provide pre-conditioned intake air to the HVAC system, and a ground-level solar array located south of the building.
