Site Infrastructure Expansion Study and Conceptual Design

AREVA Canada

Location: McClean Lake, Saskatchewan
Completion: N/A
Overview: Prime consultant and Architect responsible for an existing facility assessment, management interviews, code reviews and conceptual design for a major expansion of the Mill Complex and a major renovation and upgrade of the Administration Office/Dry Building. The Mill Complex Expansion involved the anticipated addition of more than 4500 m² of laboratories, offices, and shop area. The new laboratories integrated into this facility included a Chemistry Lab, Environmental Lab and Metallurgical Lab. An additional re-functioning of 2000 m² of existing floor area for storage and warehouse areas also formed part of the design mandate. The Administration Office/Dry Building Renovation involved the redevelopment of approximately 2500 m² of building area within the existing building shell. Conceptual designs were completed in January 2015. Projected construction cost estimate was $28.5M. The Chemistry Lab renovations went forward and were completed with Concept Plus.

Cannabis Production Facility

Freedom Cannabis

Location: Acheson, Alberta
Completion: 2019
Overview: Prime consultant, Architect, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineer responsible for the design and contract administration services for the redevelopment of an existing 12,500 m² building into a cannabis production facility. Concept Plus worked closely with Freedom Cannabis, Chandos Construction, several process consultants, a security consultant, and others to expedite the completion of the first 6050 m² of the multi-phase development. Phase 1 included Health Canada-compliant production and storage areas, walkable interstitial ceiling service level, administration, locker rooms, lunch room, security, shipping/receiving, support spaces, and an extensive rooftop solar array. Detailed design of the 6500 m² Phase 2 has been completed and tendered, and includes additional production, laboratory, extraction, and packaging areas.

Edibles Production Facility

Dynaleo Inc.

Location: Nisku, Alberta
Completion: 2020
Overview: Prime consultant, coordination, Architect, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical engineer responsible for the tenant fit-out design and contract administration services for a manufacturing facility to be Canada’s largest manufacturer of cannabis-infused gummies. Concept Plus worked with the client and process consultants to establish CFIA and Health Canada-compliant gummy production and storage areas, walkable interstitial ceiling service level, shipping/receiving, administration, locker rooms, and staff support spaces in an existing building.
